On the 5th of November the English celebrate that Guy Fawkes didn't manage to blow up parlement. This all happened at some point in Shakespearean times.
I saw a program on telly the other day where they showed what would have happened if they -Guy didn't act on his own, he wasn't even the main man, understand my confusion about still calling it Guy Fawkes night?- would have succeded. They build a replica of the original house of parlement, including the 2 meter thick walls and stocked 30+ imported barrels of gunpowder in it, lit the fuse and ran away. Blowing open the 2 meter concrete walls. It made some entertaining telly.
